India has declined to host the Women's T20 World Cup in October, should it be relocated from Bangladesh due to political unrest. Indian cricket board (BCCI) secretary Jay Shah stated that hosting the tournament during monsoon season and ahead of the Women's ODI World Cup in 2025 is impractical. The International Cricket Council (ICC) is monitoring the situation in Bangladesh, where ongoing protests have led to over four hundred deaths. Sri Lanka and the United Arab Emirates are being considered as alternative venues.
