The Indian Medical Association (IMA) has started a 24-hour nationwide strike from 6 am today to protest the rape and murder of a female doctor at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata. The strike, set to last until 6 am on Sunday, includes the suspension of non-emergency services such as routine OPDs and elective surgeries, though essential services and emergency care will remain operational.
