Protests over the rape and murder of a woman doctor in Kolkata continue, with doctors and medical students demanding justice and the arrest of all culprits. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee announced the introduction of a shuttle service for women working night shifts and increased security at hospitals in response to the public outcry. Banerjee, however, accused some groups of spreading misinformation to mislead the public. BJP spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia criticized INDIA bloc leaders, calling them “political vultures” who only address crimes against women for political gain.
