Trinamool Congress MP and actor Rachana Banerjee has apologized for revealing the name of the rape and murder victim from Kolkata's RG Kar Medical College in a recent social media video. Banerjee, speaking emotionally, named the victim, which led to a legal complaint filed by Kolkata High Court advocate Shayan Sachin Basu. The complaint alleges Banerjee's actions exacerbated the trauma and endangered the victim's dignity. Banerjee admitted her mistake, stating the video was unscripted and emotional. The video has since been deleted. The Kolkata Police has also summoned BJP leader Locket Chatterjee and two prominent doctors for similar offenses.
