The Supreme Court, led by CJI DY Chandrachud, has urged protesting doctors to return to work, assuring them of safety measures. A national task force was announced to secure hospitals, following the brutal rape and murder of a 31-year-old trainee doctor at RG Kar Medical College in Kolkata. "We are setting up a national task force to ensure the safety of doctors," stated CJI Chandrachud. The Court also slammed the Bengal government for delays in filing the FIR, noting that the crime was initially covered up as a suicide.
