Kolkata Police have launched a corruption investigation against Sandip Ghosh, the former Principal of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, where a doctor was raped and murdered. The probe focuses on financial irregularities reported since June. The West Bengal government has formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to scrutinize the allegations. Ghosh, who resigned two days after the incident, faces scrutiny for his handling of the situation. The CBI is also investigating his role and has already arrested an accused. The Calcutta High Court has barred Ghosh from holding any medical college position.
