The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has submitted a status report with the Supreme Court on the ongoing probe into the rape and murder of a trainee doctor at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata. The report was submitted ahead of the court's scheduled hearing. The Supreme Court had earlier taken suo motu cognizance of the case and sought updates from the CBI and West Bengal government. A 21-member legal team will represent the state government in the case. The court will review the report and hear the case today.
