The CBI's investigation into the murder of a 31-year-old trainee doctor at Kolkata's RG Kar Medical College has revealed that she was not gang-raped. The probe, which started on August 13, identified Sanjoy Roy, a civic volunteer with Kolkata Police, as the sole perpetrator. Forensic and DNA evidence has confirmed Roy's involvement in the rape and murder. The doctor's body was found in the hospital's seminar hall on August 9. Roy was arrested on August 10. The investigation has clarified that Roy acted alone in the crime.
