A special court in Kolkata allowed the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to conduct a lie detector test on Dr. Sandip Ghosh, the former principal of RG Kar Medical College, and four other doctors connected to the rape and murder of a 31-year-old trainee doctor. The four doctors were with the victim on the night of the crime. CBI sources indicated that the polygraph test aims to uncover the truth behind their statements. Dr. Ghosh had resigned as principal on August 12 following widespread protests over the horrific incident.
