The Supreme Court of India has directed doctors to return to their duties following the recent protests over the rape and murder of a postgraduate student at Kolkata's RG Kar Medical College. The court's intervention came after the Federation of All India Medical Associations (FAIMA) announced it would end its strike, which had disrupted medical services nationwide. The court assured that no punitive actions would be taken against the protesting doctors if they resumed work immediately. In response to the incident, a National Task Force will be established to improve safety measures for medical professionals.
