The Supreme Court of India has raised serious concerns over discrepancies in the investigation of the rape and murder of a thirty-one-year-old doctor at Kolkata’s RG Kar Hospital. Chief Justice DY Chandrachud highlighted the twelve-hour delay in sealing the crime scene and questioned the timeline of the FIR, which was filed fourteen hours after the discovery of the body. The court also pointed out the inconsistency between the autopsy results and the classification of the death as "unnatural." The Central Bureau of Investigation continues its inquiry, with the next hearing scheduled for September 5.
