The CBI is investigating the rape and murder of a 31-year-old trainee doctor at RG Kar Medical College in Kolkata. The crime occurred in a seminar hall on August 9, while the victim was asleep during her 36-hour shift. A broken door bolt in the hall is under scrutiny as it may have allowed the attacker, Sanjay Roy, to enter. The CBI is also checking CCTV footage to see if someone guarded the door during the crime. Polygraph tests will be conducted on four hospital employees, including the principal, who resigned after the incident.
