Sanjay Roy, the main accused in the rape and murder of a trainee doctor at Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College, claimed the victim was already dead when he arrived at the scene, according to a lie detector test. The test flagged several of his answers as false. Roy, who appeared anxious during the test, also claimed he ran away in fear. Despite his denial, the police and CBI found inconsistencies in his story. The victim was found with 25 injuries, including signs of sexual assault, in a seminar hall on August 9.
