6,000 Police Personnel Deployed as Students Protest at Nabanna, Demand CM's Resignation

Nabanna, the West Bengal Secretariat, has been heavily secured as students plan a protest demanding Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's resignation over the government's response to the rape and murder of a trainee doctor at RG Kar Medical College. More than 6,000 police personnel from Kolkata and Howrah have been deployed, along with combat forces, Rapid Action Force (RAF), Quick Reaction Teams (QRT), and water cannons. The area around Nabanna is fortified with three-layered security and barricades at 19 locations. Drones are being used for surveillance to manage the situation during the protest, which is organized by the Paschimbanga Chhatra Samaj.
