Kolkata Police Lathi Charge as Protestors Breach Barricades During Nabanna March Over RG Kar Rape-Murder Case

Thousands of student protestors clashed with Kolkata police during the 'Nabanna Abhijan' march, demanding justice for the rape and murder of a trainee doctor at RG Kar Medical College. Despite prohibitory orders, protestors breached barricades near the state secretariat, leading to a lathi charge and tear gas use. Over six thousand police personnel were deployed with a three-layer security setup. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) continues to investigate, recently examining the house of RG Kar's medical superintendent and seizing documents. Protestors are demanding chief minister Mamata Banerjee's resignation for mishandling the case.
