The bodies of two Dalit girls, aged fifteen and eighteen, were found hanging from a tree in a mango orchard near Kayamganj, Uttar Pradesh, on Tuesday morning. Both girls, who were close friends and belonged to the same community, went missing Monday night after visiting a temple for Sri Krishna Janmashtami celebrations. Their families searched for them overnight before discovering their bodies the next morning. A mobile phone and SIM card were found at the scene. While the initial investigation suggests suicide, police have sent the bodies for postmortem and are continuing the investigation.
