Cargo Ship MV ITT Puma Sinks Off Sagar Island, 11 Rescued, 3 Missing: Indian Coast Guard

A cargo ship, MV ITT Puma, sank 70 nautical miles south of Sagar Island while en route from Kolkata to Port Blair on Sunday night due to bad weather. The Indian Coast Guard conducted a successful rescue operation, saving 11 crew members. The operation involved Coast Guard ships Sarang and Amogh, supported by a Dornier aircraft. Despite these efforts, three crew members are still missing. The ship, registered in Mumbai, had a carrying capacity of 75 metric tons and sank about 80 km from Kolkata. The Coast Guard is continuing its search for the missing crew members as rescue operations proceed.
