The Indian Medical Association (IMA) has suspended the membership of Dr. Sandip Ghosh, former principal of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, in connection with the ongoing CBI investigation into the alleged rape and murder of a junior doctor at the Kolkata institution earlier this month. Dr. Ghosh, who is also the vice president of the IMA's Kolkata branch, was suspended by the association's disciplinary committee. This decision was made suo-motu by a committee formed by IMA national president Dr. R V Asokan, following the serious allegations and developments surrounding the case at RG Kar Medical College.
