Six-year-old John-Henry from the United States, born with a rare heart defect known as hypoplastic left heart syndrome (HLHS), joyfully announced he was getting a new heart after waiting six months for a transplant. The Cleveland Clinic Children's Hospital patient shared the happy news with staff, saying, "I'm getting a new heart!" John-Henry had undergone multiple surgeries due to his condition, but a heart transplant became his only option. In May 2024, after being placed on the transplant list in December 2023, a donor match was found. John-Henry’s transplant was successful, and he was released from the hospital on August 23.
