Yogesh Kathuniya secured his second successive silver medal in the Discus Throw F56 event at the Paris Paralympics on September 2, 2024. Kathuniya, who achieved a season-best throw of 42.22 meters, finished behind Brazil’s Claudiney Batista dos Santos, who set a new Paralympic record with 46.86 meters. This marks Kathuniya’s second silver in a row, following his success at the Tokyo Paralympics. Despite being wheelchair-bound due to Guillain–Barré syndrome, Kathuniya has made remarkable strides in para athletics, including setting a world record and winning multiple medals at international championships.
