The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested former RG Kar Medical College and Hospital principal Sandip Ghosh on Monday in a corruption case involving financial irregularities during his tenure. Three others, including Ghosh's associate Afsar Ali Khan and two vendors, were also arrested. Ghosh had earlier been questioned multiple times in connection with the alleged rape and murder of a hospital trainee. The CBI investigation was initiated after complaints from Dr. Akhtar Ali, the hospital’s former deputy superintendent, who accused Ghosh of corruption, including illegal sales and accepting bribes.
