The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) is launching an innovative initiative to provide free, air-conditioned study rooms for underprivileged children in Mumbai's slum areas. The first study room, made from two shipping containers, will be set up in Colaba and accommodate 30 students. The project, valued at ₹50 lakh, aims to provide a conducive learning environment for disadvantaged children. The BMC's initiative builds on its successful free library program and is expected to be operational within a month. This move aims to bridge the educational gap and offer equal opportunities for underprivileged children.
