Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath urged that shoot-at-sight orders be used only as a last resort after a series of wolf attacks in Bahraich district. On Monday night, a five-year-old girl was attacked by a wolf while sleeping at her home. Quick action from her family and neighbors saved her life, though the wolf escaped. This was the first time a wolf had appeared in the village, according to a neighbor. The girl, along with two others injured in the incident, is being treated at the Community Health Centre in Mahasi. The attacks have heightened concerns in the area.
