India marked its most successful day in Paralympic history by winning 8 medals at the Paris 2024 Paralympics on September 2. Javelin thrower Sumit Antil defended his gold with a record-breaking 70.59m throw. Nitesh Kumar secured another gold in men’s singles badminton (SL3), defeating top-seeded Daniel Bethell. Other podium finishes included silver medals by Yogesh Kathuniya, Thulasimathi Murugesan, and Suhas Yathiraj, while Manisha Ramadass, Nithya Sre Sumathy Sivan, and the archery team of Rakesh Kumar and Sheetal Devi added bronze medals. This achievement surpasses India's previous records at the Tokyo and Rio Paralympics.
