Sandip Ghosh, ex-principal of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, was suspended by West Bengal’s Health Department following his arrest for alleged financial misconduct. The suspension came under Rule 9 (1c) of the West Bengal Services Rules. Ghosh, along with his personal bouncer and two hospital vendors, was placed in police custody for eight days. Complaints against Ghosh, filed by the hospital’s former deputy superintendent, led to the investigation. The CBI’s anti-corruption wing is handling the case.
