Praveen Kumar claimed gold in the men's high jump T64 event at the 2024 Paris Paralympics with a 2.08m jump. This is Praveen’s second Paralympic medal, following his silver at the 2021 Tokyo Paralympics. The 21-year-old from Noida, Uttar Pradesh, has now become only the second Indian to win gold in Paralympic high jump competitions. With this victory, India’s medal tally at the Paris Paralympics has reached 26, including six gold, nine silver, and 11 bronze medals. Praveen’s achievements continue to inspire para-athletes in India.
