The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), investigating the alleged rape and murder of a trainee doctor at Kolkata's RG Kar Medical College, has not mentioned gang rape in its remand note. Sanjay Roy, the sole accused, has been remanded to 14 days of judicial custody by the Sealdah court. Initially, Kolkata Police had filed an FIR under sections related to rape and murder, but CBI's probe has revealed Roy acted alone. Allegations of evidence tampering persist, with the CBI claiming the crime scene was altered, which the state government denies.
