BJP has directed ex-WFI chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh to refrain from commenting on wrestlers Vinesh Phogat and Bajrang Punia. Phogat and Punia, who joined Congress ahead of the Haryana assembly polls, resigned from their railway jobs and were cleared to contest elections. Phogat will run from Julana constituency. Bhushan, facing sexual harassment charges, alleged that the protests against him were a Congress conspiracy led by the Hooda family. BJP aims to avoid controversy in the sensitive Haryana polls, as anti-incumbency and the "anti-Jat" factor challenge their electoral prospects.
