A major accident was averted when the Kalindi Express, traveling from Prayagraj to Bhiwani, struck a gas cylinder placed on the tracks near Kanpur on Sunday. The collision sent the cylinder flying 50 meters, halting the train for 20 minutes. Railway Police Force (RPF) and Government Railway Police (GRP) teams are investigating the incident, with reports suggesting more "objectionable material" was found near the site. Kanpur Assistant Commissioner of Police Harish Chander confirmed the train route remained undisturbed, and other trains continued as scheduled. Similar incidents have been reported in Uttar Pradesh recently.
