The Supreme Court directed Kolkata's protesting doctors to resume work by 5 p.m. on September 10, warning of adverse action if they fail to comply. This follows senior advocate Kapil Sibal’s submission that 23 individuals have died due to inadequate treatment during the strike. The court also ordered the West Bengal government to address the doctors' safety concerns by installing CCTV cameras and improving facilities. The CBI was instructed to submit a fresh status report on the investigation into the rape and murder of a junior doctor at RG Kar Medical College. Nationwide protests continue over the incident.
