A fire at the Manali substation in Chennai caused power cuts across several areas on Thursday night, including Manali and the Mint region. The Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation (TANGEDCO) confirmed efforts are underway to restore power quickly. TANGEDCO's Managing Director, Rajesh Lakshmi, stated they are working on a bypass line to fix the issue within 30 minutes. Many residents took to social media to express their concerns about the blackout, with some reporting that streetlights were also out in affected areas, such as Anna Salai and Adyar.
