Two Indian Army personnel, Naib Subedar Vipan Kumar and Sepoy Arvind Singh, were killed during an encounter with terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir's Kishtwar on Friday. The operation, launched based on intelligence inputs, was conducted jointly with the Jammu and Kashmir Police. Two other soldiers were injured during the attack near Chatroo. Security forces have cordoned off the area, and operations are ongoing. The encounter occurred amidst increasing violence ahead of the Union Territory's upcoming Assembly elections, marking the first such elections in 10 years.
