The CBI has arrested Dr. Sandip Ghosh, former principal of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, and Abhijit Mandal, Station House Officer of Tala Police Station, for alleged involvement in tampering with evidence and delaying the FIR in the rape and murder case of a trainee doctor. Ghosh and Mandal are accused of destroying evidence and misleading the investigation. The Calcutta High Court has set a three-week deadline for the CBI to report on the investigation’s progress. The victim, a 31-year-old doctor, was found dead on August 9, with evidence of brutal assault.
