The CBI arrested Sandip Ghosh, former principal of RG Kar Medical College, and Tala Police Station's SHO, Abhijit Mandal, on Saturday. They are accused of delaying the FIR registration and missing evidence in the rape and murder case of a postgraduate trainee doctor at the hospital in Kolkata. Ghosh had previously been arrested for alleged financial irregularities. The Calcutta High Court has given the CBI three weeks to submit a progress report, with the hearing scheduled for September 17. The doctor was found murdered in the hospital on August 9.
