Three senior IPS officers, including Director General P. Sitharama Anjaneyulu, were suspended by the Andhra Pradesh government for allegedly harassing Mumbai-based actor-model Kadambari Jethwani. Jethwani accused the officers of conspiring with YSR Congress leader K.V.R. Vidyasagar, who filed a forgery case against her. She and her family were wrongfully arrested and detained for over 40 days without proper investigation. An inquiry found "grave misconduct" and "dereliction of duty." The officers were suspended after evidence showed they ordered Jethwani's arrest before an FIR was filed.
