Ganesh Chaturthi concluded on September 17, 2024, with grand processions across India. In Mumbai, more than 7,500 Ganesh idols were immersed, including 7,227 household idols and 300 from community groups. Eco-friendly immersion methods were employed, with the BMC providing 204 artificial ponds. Despite safety measures including 24,000 police personnel and drone surveillance, tragedies occurred, with eight men drowning in Gujarat and one in Punjab during the immersion. The festival saw vibrant celebrations but also political controversy over Prime Minister Modi's attendance at a Ganesh puja at Chief Justice D.Y. Chandrachud's residence.
