The CBI informed a Kolkata court that there is "no evidence of gang-rape" in the case of a trainee doctor's death at RG Kar Medical College, but stated they are "still investigating" the matter. The agency requested a three-day custody extension for Sandip Ghosh, the former principal, and Abhijit Mondal, a former police officer, due to their lack of cooperation. "We have evidence of tampering and are exploring all possibilities," the CBI stated. Call records between Ghosh and Mondal are being examined as part of the ongoing investigation into the suspected rape and murder.
