The fiancée of an Army officer has accused police personnel at Bhubaneswar's Bharatpur police station of brutal assault and sexual harassment. After they sought help following a road rage incident on September 15, she claimed, “Police tied me up and molested me.” The woman alleged that officers dragged her and that the inspector-in-charge exposed himself and abused her. The officer reported being illegally detained and assaulted as well. In response to the allegations, Odisha Police suspended five officers, including the inspector. The National Commission for Women is investigating the matter.
