The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) questioned Dr Birupaksha Biswas, a doctor linked to the former principal of RG Kar Medical College, Dr Sandip Ghosh, regarding the August 9 rape-murder of a junior doctor in Kolkata. Dr Biswas, part of the so-called 'North Bengal lobby,' was present at the hospital during the crime. The CBI is investigating his role and connections with other doctors named in an FIR for threatening students in medical colleges. Dr Ghosh, already under scrutiny for financial irregularities, allegedly delayed the filing of the FIR in the case by 14 hours, raising concerns of evidence tampering.
