The prime suspect in the murder of Bengaluru saleswoman Mahalakshmi, whose body was chopped into 59 pieces, was found dead in Odisha. Mukti Ranjan Ray, 31, allegedly died by suicide, leaving a note confessing to the crime. His body was discovered hanging from a tree in a village near Dhusuri Police Station, Bhadrak district. Mahalakshmi’s remains were found in her refrigerator on September 21, days after she was last seen on September 1. Forensic teams are examining the case. Ray had expressed discontent with her relationship with another man, sparking the investigation.
