Prime Minister Narendra Modi received a special gift from chess star Vantika Agarwal after India’s historic double gold victory at the 45th Chess Olympiad 2024. Vantika gifted PM Modi a picture from a 2012 event where he felicitated her at the 'Swami Vivekananda Mahila Chess Mahotsav.' Modi also observed a bullet chess match between R Praggnanandhaa and Arjun Erigaisi during the meeting. The Indian men’s and women’s teams clinched gold, defeating Slovenia and Azerbaijan, respectively. The USA and Kazakhstan secured second and third places in the women’s tournament, while Uzbekistan took bronze in the men's.
