A Bengaluru court has ordered the registration of a First Information Report (FIR) against Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman over allegations of extortion involving electoral bonds, which have been discontinued. The complaint was submitted by Adarsh Iyer from the Janaadhikara Sangharsha Sanghatane, asserting that extortion was carried out through these electoral bonds. Following this complaint, the Special Court for People's Representatives in Bengaluru mandated that the police file an FIR in the case. The police have since registered the FIR against Sitharaman and others named in the complaint, marking a significant development in political financing issues in India.
