A Mysuru-Darbhanga Bhagmati Express train collided with a stationary goods train at Kavaraipettai railway station near Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on Friday. The impact caused 13 coaches to derail and a fire to erupt in two coaches. At least 19 passengers sustained injuries and were transported to nearby hospitals. Rescue operations are underway, and emergency helplines have been activated by Southern Railways. All passengers have been evacuated, with arrangements made for their onward journey to Darbhanga or other destinations. Officials are investigating the cause of the accident.
