India announced a 15-member squad for the three-Test series against New Zealand starting on October 17. Jasprit Bumrah, in excellent form since his return in 2023, has been named vice-captain. He recently reclaimed the top spot in the ICC Test bowling rankings. The team remains the same as the one that played against Bangladesh. Mohammed Shami is still recovering from injury and will miss the series. India will play the first Test in Bengaluru, followed by matches in Pune and Mumbai. Harshit Rana, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Mayank Yadav, and Prasidh Krishna are reserves.
