The West Bengal government has rejected the mass resignation of doctors from state-run hospitals, stating it is not legally valid. According to government rules, resignations must be submitted individually. This came after senior doctors from several hospitals, including R G Kar Medical College, resigned in support of junior doctors protesting a colleague’s murder. The government, however, clarified that mass resignation letters have no legal value. The junior doctors continue their hunger strike, demanding justice, the resignation of the health secretary, and better workplace security.
