Junior doctors in West Bengal will meet the government on Monday but will continue their hunger strike. They are protesting over the rape and murder case at RG Kar Medical College. The doctors are demanding justice and the removal of state health secretary N S Nigam. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has met most of their demands but refused to remove the health secretary. Some of the doctors have been on hunger strike since October 5, with several requiring hospital care. They have warned of a statewide doctors’ strike if their demands are not met by October 22.
