79 Flights Receive Fresh Threats in 24 Hours, 160 Hoax Calls Target Airlines This Week

A total of 79 flights, primarily on international routes, were targeted by bomb threats from Monday to Tuesday, with major airlines including IndiGo, Vistara, Akasa, and Air India affected. Destinations like Jeddah, Istanbul, and Riyadh were among those targeted. The incidents pushed the week's total hoax threats to 169. Passengers were safely evacuated, and security protocols were followed. Multiple hoax calls over the past week have caused significant disruption to flight operations. The Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) has met with airline representatives to address the escalating issue. Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu promised stricter penalties.
