At least 95 flights from IndiGo, Air India, Vistara, SpiceJet, and Akasa Air received bomb threats on Thursday, affecting over 250 flights in the past 10 days. Authorities reported 25 Akasa Air flights and 20 each from Air India, IndiGo, and Vistara were targeted, causing major disruptions. Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu announced plans to make hoax bomb threats a cognisable offence and introduce a no-fly list for offenders. The bomb threats, primarily originating from social media platforms like X, have raised security concerns, with investigations underway to determine if a larger conspiracy is involved.
