Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in the 115th episode of his radio show 'Mann Ki Baat', warned citizens against the 'digital arrest' scam, where fraudsters impersonate officials from agencies like the CBI, RBI, and police to extort money. Modi outlined the three-step tactic: collecting personal information, creating fear, and pressuring victims. He urged people not to fall for these tactics, advising them to record such calls and report incidents to the national cyber helpline at 1930. Recently, business tycoon SP Oswal fell victim to this scam, losing ₹7 crore to fraudsters posing as CBI officials.
