Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Spain's Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez inaugurated TATA’s C-295 Aircraft Manufacturing Hub in Vadodara, Gujarat, marking a major milestone for India’s defence sector. Under a 2021 agreement, Airbus will deliver 16 C-295 aircraft from Spain, while the remaining 40 will be manufactured locally at TATA’s new facility. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh highlighted the hub as India's first private sector military aircraft final assembly line, supporting the ‘Make in India’ initiative. This facility is set to enhance India's defence agility and strengthen supply chains by enabling manufacturing, assembly, testing, and maintenance on Indian soil.
